LARGO TWINNED WITH ROBINSON CRUSOE ISLAND!!

Largo, of course, is the birthplace of Alexander Selkirk, on whom the story of Robinson Crusoe is based.

The South Pacific island - initially named Más a Tierra or Juan Fernández Chile Island after the first documented human to find it in November 1574 - was renamed after the book, ROBINSON CRUSOE ISLAND.

In 2004 our tiny fishing village of lower largo was twinned with

the small South Pacific tropical island!
